CREW

What is CREW?

The Creating Resilience for Emotional Wellbeing Programme (CREW) has been developed for young people aged 8-11 to support them to understand and express their emotions, build confidence and resilience by providing tools and coping strategies tailored to each individual based on their needs and interests.

The main areas CREW can help with are:

  • emotions
  • anxiety
  • confidence
  • anger

CREW sessions will:

  • Support your child on a one-to-one basis and are child led.
  • Take place at home, in the community or school, depending on individual needs and availability.
  • Provide activities that are play based and delivered by qualified wellbeing support workers (WSW).

CREW sessions CAN NOT support with:

  • Behaviour management
  • Therapeutic support / counselling
  • School avoidance
  • Wider family concerns

Service Structure

The intervention will be for six weeks:

  • Week 1 - introduction meeting to establish what support is required.
  • Week 2 – 5  - one-to-one sessions with the young person to provide them with tools and strategies to support them with whatever they are struggling with.
  • Week 6 – review of the progress made by the young person and additional information on local play provisions will also be provided

You will still be working with your Resilient Families Service Intervention Worker on the wider family plan throughout this time, as the CREW Programme is only one part of the Resilient Families Service support.
